The Nisga’a Nation sought community input on the development of a new piece of legislation titled the Nisga’a Language and Culture Act. This proposed Act aimed to strengthen, revitalize, and protect lip algaxam’ (Nisga’a language) and lip wilaa loom’ (Nisga’a culture) for current and future generations.
